We launched a custom design “Long John” made from an Estes Storm Caster kit. Actually two kits combined to make a long rocket. I added an extra long motor mount to accommodate a Ellis Mountain 24mm G37 motor. Boy did that thing fly! It took three tries to get it to light (bad russian made ignitors) but when it did, it took off like a bat out of hell. Definitely the highest flight from the “A” pad! Flew up and out of sight and no one spotted it again. It either drifted quickly out of sight in the 15-20 mph winds, or it came in ballistic. Despite being lost, it flew very well and I’m thinking of building another one.
