Poking holes in the sky, one rocket at a time.
Christopher passed another milestone this weekend by building his first re-loadable rocket motor. As anyone who’s done this before knows, building a rocket motor can be a tedious and frustrating exercise. And the jeopardy of not getting just right is the possibility of a dangerous explosion.
It was a cold and windy day so we sat in the truck using a container lid as a table. He was able to do most of the steps without difficulty but there was a problem getting the cardboard spacer into the grain insulator sleeve. I ended up having force it in, but the fit was not as clean as I would have liked. However, he was able to get it together and the flight was great. Video here.
